Invisalign Right for Me

Is Invisalign Right for Me, Crooked, crowded, or gapped teeth can cause functional and cosmetic concerns that affect oral health and confidence. While braces have been an effective method of treatment in solving these issues, many people shy away from pursuing treatment for fear of negative cosmetic outlook or that they may be too old for traditional braces. For this reason, Invisalign® retainers have been taking the dental world by storm. An invisible and removable retainer that can serve the same purpose as braces, many opt for this route instead because is it effective, discreet, and comfortable. As great and convenient as these invisible retainers may be, you may be asking yourself is Invisalign® right for me?

What conditions are you trying to treat and how severe are they?

Invisalign right for me, it has been shown to be a worthwhile and handy alternative to traditional braces. However, they are not always the best option for treatment depending on what you want to correct and the severity of the condition. This is the single most important factor in determining if Invisalign® is the most appropriate option for you. In general, the treatment can correct mild to complex cases of overcrowding, gapped teeth, overbite, underbite, and crossbite. More dramatic cases of overbite, underbite, and crossbite may require traditional metal braces that work well with more advanced orthodontic procedures.

How old are you?

If you are a teenager wanting to keep up the appearance of your natural teeth or an adult that wants to avoid the stigma of adult braces, you could be the perfect candidate for Invisalign®. The treatment is generally not offered to children under the age of 13 as their jaws and teeth are continuously shifting making it impossible to devise the perfect treatment plan based on their initial impressions.

Are you committed to improving your smile?

Orthodontists recommend that you keep your invisible aligners in your mouth at least 22 hours per day in order to reach your goal within proposed treatment timeline. The downside to Invisalign® is that you have control over when you can remove them, giving you more freedom, but also more responsibility. If you don’t think you can commit to wearing them properly or are prone to losing things, traditional metal braces may be the better option for you.

What is your budget?

While Invisalign® is convenient for those who want a less intense dental treatment, it can be more expensive than traditional braces. While the exact cost of treatment may vary depending on the issues you are trying to fix and how severe your case is, Invisalign® tends to be a more expensive option.
